1ST RESPONDER TACTICAL MEDICINE – TCOLE CREDITS

October 26 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Treating injuries from natural disasters, inclement weather, downed officers ,active killer situations, fire, auto/aircraft accidents, etc… Help can sometimes be minutes and even hours away. Learning survival medicine skills could mean the difference in staying alive or death before they arrive. The course will be instructed by Freedom Defense Instructor Nick Gaines (18 Delta Special Forces Medic) and Ray Barron (lead instructor and security and law enforcement consultant/trainer).
Combat medicine tactics used and taught by 18 Delta special operations medics. They are some of the most elite medics in the world with a true CUF (care under fire) mindset to treat under extreme stress related incidents utilizing modern and improvised techniques performed in austere environments.

Our goal is to provide a stair stepped training program, integrating medicine and continue to build skills in a variety of medical courses – crawl, walk, run methodology. Course will be taught by FDT staff with over 16 years wilderness and special forces medicine experience and 40 plus combined years in security and survival tactics.

Course Details: The course will cover the basics of combat related self aid and buddy care. The principles of this course are based on the military and special forces medicine. The number one treatable injury of combat deaths is exsanguination (bleeding to death). This course will be held while maintaining principles of proper tactical protection for you , your partners as well as bystanders while providing life saving tactics to yourself or those in need.

The thought that a paramedic or others will be responding to your wounds prior to the scene being declared safe must be considered.

Prerequisites: Willingness to expand your skill set in a uncomfortable training and the ability of aiding your own family, friends or others with extreme injuries. Ability to work and learn while being under duress and stress.

Required Equipment: Old clothes you don’t mind getting cut on or dirty, bring over shirt. Current IFAK (individual first aid kit) if you have it, or a training one will be provided, lunch and water.

NO LIVE FIREARMS ALLOWED, simulation gear will be utilized.
